AUDITIONS AND SCHOLARSHIPS:

The audition process may vary from city to city due to the incredible opportunities available to Monsters dancers.   Dancers who attended the 2008 Greenville workshop also had the opportunity to audition for Disney's The Hannah Montana Movie, choreographed by Monsters'-own Jamal Sims.  From that audition, several dancers directly booked and performed in the film which shot in Nashville, TN in June.

Typically, there is one audition class per level in which a choreographer will teach a short combination and then dancers will perform the combination in smaller groups.  The audition is also a class time and is recommended for all dancers.  Monsters of HipHop promotes a supportive and educational learning environment at all times including the auditions.  We award thousands of dollars worth of scholarships in each city to:

  • Future Monsters of HipHop events
  • Millennium Dance Complex
  • Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio in LA
  • The Ailey Extension in New York
  • Monsters of HipHop: The Show in Los Angeles - Show finalists receive a VIP Tour Pass enabling them to attend unlimited Monsters 2-day workshops free for one year.
  • The Alan Funk Award - a convention scholarship awarded in each city in honor of
Andy Funk's brother who died of Leukemia at the age of 19. This award will go to the dancer who demonstrates a positive attitude, determination and passion for dance.
  • Monsters For Life - At each season's tour finale, one dancer will receive this incredible
LIFETIME PASS to Monsters dance conventions.
